Ari Lennox
Courtney Shanade Salter, born March 26, 1991, is also known as Ari Lennox, hails from Washington, D.C. and is the first female to sign with J. Cole's Dreamville Records label. The debut EP Pho, released in October 21st, 2016, was released on Dreamville Records. The singer began to earn the attention of her peers. Shea Butter Baby, her debut studio album, debuted on in May 7th, 2019. Ari Lennox began uploading her tracks to the internet in 2012 when she launched her mixtape debut Five Finger Discount, and her debut EP Ariography in the year 2013. The year 2014 saw her continue to share her music over the web including her self release single Bound. She was featured in Omen's Elephant Eyes as well as on Sweat It Out on the 21st of July, 2015. J. Cole asked her to work with him on Rihanna's references. After that, in the course of the period, she released music that was circulating around Dreamville. Her contract was signed officially with Dreamville Records on 8 December. Backseat, the track she sang together with Cozz in The Revenge of the Dreamers II collaborative album. The singer released Pho, her debut EP on October 21st in 2016. Ari Lennox then appeared as the opening performer in support of J. Cole on his track Change in 2017 and also was a part of the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour. In 2018 she went on to appear on two of her songs along with label-mates EarthGang with Nothing but the Best and Bas on Icarus. The 16th of July, 2018, Ari Lennox released the first single Whipped Cream of her album debut Shea Butter Baby with an accompanying music video which debuted on the 5th of September. On November 9 she released two singles titled 40 Shades of Choke and Grampa. On November 13 she dropped two more singles, titled One and Pdigree. One or Pdigree. She then appeared in the Creed II soundtrack with Cole on the track Shea Butter Baby on November 16, which was then released as a single on February 26, 2019 for her debut album the same title. The track was accompanied by an accompanying music video that debuted that was released on February 20, 2019 and reached 3 million views on YouTube in its first seven days. In December 2018 she was an opening act for The From East Atlanta With Love Tour together with 6LACK.
